HELP with Intel Rapid Storage Technology

Thread Starter
Hi,
I have an HP 7008TX laptop that comes with 2x1TB hard drives and a 32GB ssd for caching.

If I enable IRST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) in windows and try to install windows / format I can't see the HDD, but if I disable it I can.

Now I'm locked out of my laptop (user account cannot be loaded) and it's the only account that I have.

I tried to load from the disc but no luck, I can't see the HDD.

Also tried to add an account form command prompt but it won't because it can't recognize the HDD.

Is there any way to disable Intel Rapid Storage Technology without windows (from bios)?

Thanks a lot.

Play with ACHI / RAID settings in BIOS. Maybe you can even set it to IDE.
The proper way would be something like THIS.

Thanks for the reply,

I fixed it by unplugging the HDD and starting the laptop then the raid controller came up and I disabled raid, then put the HDD go to the raid again (Ctrl + i) and re-enabled the HDD.

Couldn't get in the raid controller any other way.

And don't have much settings in BIOS (its a laptop).

Thanks

Rob
