Socket 1155 stock cooler...

I was wondering if I could use a socket 1155 stock cooler on a socket LGA1156 CPU? The holes are the same.

Thanks, that what I thought as well when I installed it in my girlfriends PC. I thought though that maybe the holes fitted but it wouldnt touch the CPU enough.

Its just weird then, that her CPU cooler sounds like it goes to 100% when she plays a game like Sims. Any ideas for that?
