SABERTOOTH Clocking Too High.

Thread Starter
My SABERTOOTH 990FX is clocking over what it should be. Right now, for example, it is running 216.73x18 for 3.901GHz. It's set at 216x18 for 3.888GHz. Is this a problem, and if so, how can I fix it?

That is normal, because you are ocing the FSB.

It also puts my 3.2GHz Phenom up to 3.213 at stock clocks. Is that normal?
That is normal too.

It's the small variance in the reference clock being multiplied by the cpu multi. eg; .73 x 18 = the difference.

example, bios set at 1.41875v cpuz and ez mode screen in bios reads 1.428v to 1.440v. under load it jumps to 1.452v.

^ I think that that's not a big deal.

Yes, these are all normal things to experience. Small variations will occur in readings. Different utilities will also give give different readings based on how they measure them, refresh times, etc.

but, what concerns me is that the voltage being displayed is different than what is manual set in bios.

What voltage is really being delivered to the cpu? also, asus tech support mentioned a faulty voltage sensor regulator but I don't think is that case due to others with same board experiencing the same things.

Also, there are A LOT of settings that will auto manipulate the voltages like CPU Phase Control, LLC, CPU Current Control, etc...

Is there anything that can be done to get the voltage displayed/monitored to match the manual setting in bios?

like i mentioned before, "bios set at 1.41875v cpuz and ez mode screen in bios reads 1.428v to 1.440v. under load it jumps to 1.452v." with a manual setting of only 1.4125v, am I really giving the cpu 1.428v to 1.452v?? Thats a lot of voltage!
