[BUILD Log] "Recovery"Project - NZXT Switch 810 White

Thread Starter
Greetings,

At the beginning I would like to make a little introduction.

Why "Recovery"? Well, 2 years ago I had an accident that caused me for nearly 2 years recovery.

The items you can see on pictures were purchased before the accident mostly.
Very few of them I bought recently, so sorry if you feel I use pretty old stuff
(yeah old, as in moment I purchased them they were nearly best in class, now comparing to current it is almost nothing).

Also, please do not expect this build to be finished quickly, I do it only in my free time as at work
I am Games Developer (programmer), at Home loving father and husband, in addition playing lead guitar in band and doing Down Hill biking, so I believe you understand why it may not go so quick you would expect smile.gif

At the moment I am still waiting ColdZero to finish some things for me I cannot start the build without.
- Rear Plate for Case - outside - white plexi - mat
- Under Mobo plates plus some coverage plates - white plexi - glossy
- PSU Cover - White plexi - mat
- few more little things..

Some stuff will be taken from my present machine:

Project is not sponsored by any of companies the products were used.

"Special thanks" to EK which showed me clearly that most important for them are money.
I will not be bringing the story out over here, however I would not buy EK products knowing I will be treated as not important one of thousands so please forgive me anyone but the EK products were bought long time ago as stated in the initial sentence of the topic (they did not want to extend my warranty for Nickel Plated blocks. Due to my life situation related to the accident I requested them for that, blocks are still manufacturer prepacked, were never used so now it was up to their human gesture to extend the warranty for me to be able to use it in case of blocks faulty same as all other "cheated" Customers of them who had such possibility, they said no and closed my Support Topic without further response).
I like their products, however they started to be more commercial like, I will think 10 times before buying anything from them next time.

Real thanks to Bitspower which treated me as a real Customer and managed all my individual requests.

Will do my best, however still waiting parts to arrive. I have a lot of custom solutions in my mind for this project, I was waiting nearly 2 years to get it up so had time to think hehe. Unfortunately I do not have and cannot get anywhere block for my mobo as the only existing one was from Koolance, it is discontinued from long time.. I even tried to get it in China but no one wanted to send me that out from there. Well, will have to keep without it as doing custom one is a cost of nearly 500USD, not worth it, would be cheaper to buy new mobo and block hah.

If I will get the mobo block I am wondering the radiators may be not enough to get all the stuff cooled well, who cares, will see how it gonna work. OK, waiting for the missing stuff and starting the assembly thumb.gif

That is a lotta hot, 590 SLI plus X58 setup, looking at 1000W of heat at full load pretty easily. What radiators and fans do you plan to use?

- Phobya G-Changer 240 ver 1.2 Black
- EK-CoolStream RAD XT (360)
- EK-CoolStream RAD XT (120)

- Phobya G-Silent 12 1500 Blue Led
- Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition (120x120x25)

Depends if I will get second 590 as first plans were to get it up without SLI, I have two blocks for them already.. I'll keep looking for used one I guess while assembling.

P.S. First post updated with Water Cooling set

So organized! I wish my parts were like that.

Dual GPU? I'm in! wheee.gif

My only issue is that the EK thing is a little flaky. While I understand your situation, can you really expect a company as large as EK to extend the warranty like that? I mean the terms of warranty on EK products has always been from the date of purchase from distributor to consumer. Even then, the company isn't producing the FC series anymore. Worst comes to worse and the block fails, EK wouldn't be able to replace it anyways.
