A10 5800k build! Opinions please!

Hey guys, I've finally decided to upgrade my Pentium. I'm one the apu path, because it's not expensive and it's just what I need.
Here's my specs

Amd a10 5800k apu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280

Gigabyte a85x mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128577
(good for overclocking?)

G skill trident x (2400mhz)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231587

And a cm hyper 212 evo.
I'll be reusing my old case, psu and hdd s.

So now questions
1) Is the mobo good for overclocking? Or please suggest one under $110
2) Do I need a 6670 DG for a resolution of 1280x1024?
3) Would the ram post or down clock when put in?
4) Would I be able to play bf3, fc 3 and Crysis 3? Smoothly?
I wasn't able to play these games with a p4 and a 8400gs

As the specs say, the motherboard you chose doesn't support 2400mhz speed RAM, so it would underclock the RAM from startup. I can run BF3 decently on my 9800GT. FC3 and Crysis 3 should run smoothly on low to med settings. You'd have to ask someone that has actually played it on similar hardware though. That's as much as I can help smile.gif

Oh thanks, can you suggest a good mobo? Or is 2133mhz ram fine for the apu? It seems to be the sweet spot.
Any answer for the 2nd question? Thanks in advance!

That's a good round up, some support 2400mhz RAM, and have the A85X chipset. I don't know what other features you're looking for in a motherboard, so that's a general idea of the overclocking capabilities and high clocked RAM. thumb.gif

If it says DDR3 2400(OC), it means that it's not supported at that default speed,I have to overclock it there?

Also you've got to know that the processor doesn't natively support 2133, 2400 or 2600mhz. Even if it increases your frames it could potentially damage the processor or cause problems. However It does make your frames sexy high! smile.gif Also overclocking the GPU half along with the ram speed does create a generous improvement as well. 5-10 frames in some games under 1866 over stock GPU clock. You can probably get close to a 5750 with enough mods and tweaks. It has newer operating tech so it already outperforms 5750 in some ways.

I've never heard of problems caused by high ram clocks. The apu is bottlenecks by ram speed, am I right? There was a guy with a 3000mhz oc ram, he had no problems(please explain this!)

Can't you wait for Kaveri APU?

I think the fourth questions from the OP would have answered you, it is clear he is doing this for gaming. Compgenie wait for Kaveri, it'll be much better, initially it'll cost a little more but prices will come down after a month or so.
