Kaveri will release in December. Steam roller looks good, but is the wait worthwhile? What about Richland? The leaks say it's gonna release on March 19th.

I don't know about Richland, I've been keeping myself up to date on Kaveri and Haswell only. See the performance of Richland and if you are satisfied with it buy it.

AMD also introduced the new APU codenamed “Richland” which is currently shipping to OEMs and delivers visual performance increases ranging from more than 20 percent to up to 40 percent over the previous generation of AMD A-Series APUs1. “Richland” is expected to come bundled with new software for consumers such as gesture- and facial-recognition to dramatically expand and enhance consumers’ user experiences. The follow-on to “Richland” will be the 28nm APU codenamed “Kaveri” with revolutionary heterogeneous system architecture (HSA) features which is expected to begin shipping to customers in the second half of 2013.

A few news articles said kaveri was delayed to 2014.... I hope it's incorrect!

I would vote for the 6670 DDR5 edition. The reason is so you can share the DDR5 memory, and run hybrid Crossfire with your APU. It's like an extra $80 and I think it would be worth the extra money. I know that increasing the ram frequency will drastically increase the performance of the APU, but I've heard it can be difficult to get those processors that high without sufficient cooling and a board that has the features to support such overclocks. It's also recommended to not only increase the ram frequencies, but overclock those CPU's to 4.3+ if you can.

I agree, but is it necessary for 1280x1024?
And a hexus review shows a performance drop! Something is really wrong.

Your welcome, I hope that it will be released this year. I'm thinking of upgrading too.

That's because the ram speeds don't match. You get microstuttering on APUs with non equal ram speeds while in dual graphics. You'd have to find out what the base channel mhz of the GDDR5 is and then have your system ram match it. You'd probably have to do 2400mhz to get syncing with GDDR5. It's kinda tricky. Also I recommend unparking cores and enabling windows to use hpet for optimal graphics performance. My system is running Bioshock Infinite 40-90 FPS on very high with just dual graphics. Skyrim is running about 40fps with about 100 mods no frame droopage, with 7 cell setting. I do get like way more while running around in a dungeon, but that's a given. These videocards also favor vsync. If you're not using you're losing.

My configuration.
6670 800/800 mhz core/ram
7670 800/800 mhz core/ram

My next best option for improvement is actually tweaking ram timings. If I want to increase my core or ram the two must match.
