What fan? - Push/Pull Setup and is it worth it with these Fans?

1. Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm Fan - 1850 RPM (D1225C12B5AP-15)

2. Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition CO-9050008-WW 120mm Twin Pack High Static Pressure Case Fan

Or is there a better selection?

Thanks
Bocko

Also interested! But should also add Helix 120s into that range too.

You can check this review which compares different setups (Push/Push, Push/Pull etc), number of fans and case positions for 120mm radiators.

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Which-is-The-Best-Configuration-for-120-mm-Liquid-Cooling-Fans/1738

Two fan setup is always better.

For fans, choose one which wont be pressuring the other fan. Matching RPMs is one way of ensuring that (but ofcourse fins angle and number matters too).

CFM basically should match somewhat.

how true is this?
So basically if I have 1850 GT's pushing and some 1000rpm fan pulling will my rad's airflow be completely messed up?

Two fans with similar CFM would probably give the best results

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=85882

It also seems that having a fan with a stronger pull will have better overall CFM.

Usually it's recommended to use same fans in order to ensure that the fans do not compete with each other and avoid excess turbulence.

Mix & Match in Push-Pull does also damage fans.
Look at post #966 about a question of mixing push pull fans then read what Tator said at the post #968 about why does not worth to do it.

I don't know why you'd do this though. Just buy another 1850GT and call it good. Your airflow will be completely messed up between the radiator sandwich and you'll be stressing the lower speed fan.

There are two excelent threads here discussing this, one already has detailed graphs. Check Tator Tot's big quiet fan comparative and Cyclops Fans! thread.

Your choice depends on what you're gonna use the fans for, what type of rad/heatsink or whatever, and how much fpi (if on a rad/heatsink), case grills, hdd trays.
GT's will be quieter than SP fans, but there are cheaper quieter alternatives with the same performance nowadays, and a bit better yet more expensive ones, so it depends on a few things.

1-Budget
2-Usage
3-Noise tolerance
