when i try to go that high on the XFX 7950 memory clock i get a SWEET CRASH! no dice, you are also running a 7970. So its hard to compare on the other one, ill try those out.

so how much more do i need to bump my cpu, anything over 4.5 on stock crashes

your cpu really needs to be oc'ed higher if you want to see better results. it is pulling your overall score down. there are guides and clubs you can refer to here in ocn. a very good support group at amd section.

getting another gpu to crossfire is not going to help but just make things worst. these gpus are so fast and powerful they need a fast cpu to support them, especially if you like doing these benches.

edit: i am not saying you need 5GHz. prolly around 4.7 or 4.8 if you want to see better 3DMark results. it can be done.

good. i don't know about these 8300 series. at 4.5GHz it can be beat by an oc'ed thuban but at 4.7 and above - it is like it has an overdrive and just takes off. and now games are starting to use more cores. you got a good one, bud.

no, that's what you call progress. i just noticed, you have 32 GB worth of ram, you really need that much? i read it affects overall performance in benches such as this.

now, if you oc your gpu a little, then your score will go higher. but if you are willing to try going down to 16GB of ram to check if it does indeed affect performance. if it is too risky - forget it.

if you are not familiar how to oc the gpu, then i suggest you ask here . . .

BTW, how's the cpu temp when loaded? do not let it go past 55C. past that it might throttle.monitor it by keeping HWMonitor open while running 3DMark11.

It won't go past 40c at all I have an h100 I'm trying 4.9 right now. I tried 5.0 and it kept crashing I went up to about 1.6 voltage and it just wouldn't hold, btw the GPu is at max oc I touch the memory it falls apart, 1070 is max clock then auto crash
