can i run dual 7970's or 7950's - Page 6

OP focus on the graphics score in benchmarks. do not compare with core i7 overclocked to 4.5 ghz. your FX-8350 at 4.5 ghz is not going to be able to give you physics scores like core i7 3770k at 4.5 ghz .

stock fx-8350 running gtx 680. physics score is 7370
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-8350-vishera-review,3328-6.html

stock fx-8350 running gtx 660. physics score is 7300
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/printpage/FX-8350-vs-Core-i5-3470-CPU-Review/1657

first see if at stock speeds on fx-8350 you are getting physics score of 7300. if not there is some problem.

the physics score is based only on cpu as it runs on cpu. there is no gpu physics in these tests.

Baby, a lower score using higher oc settings is a sign of instability. consult the fx owner's club. from my experience the physics score affects the graphics score not the other way around. Like Two cables said, you need to run a stabiltiy program that works well with fx.

also, gigabyte boards are known to have overheating nb. check all your temps when loaded.

you have it backwards, i have a higher score when i oc, which is correct. I wish I would have known that the 8350 is NOT the cpu to get for gaming. Now im back to square one with this pos lol

no, i was referring to your post #45.

also, you need to have a backup plan for when windows gets corrupted like Two cables said, especially when oc'ing. i have my hardrives cloned just in case it happens. no need to reinstall all the apps like office, adobe, etc.just swap hardrives, which minimizes downtime. my rigs are partime work stations.

your physics score is lower than those 2 websites . tomshardware used DDR3 1600 at CL9 and hardwaresecrets used DDR3 1333 at CL7. what speed is your memory running at and what is your CAS Latency (CL) value ?

then you have this with a smaller oc but performed better?

looking at physics of course

It sounds to me like lower overclock performed better.
