Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional (70SB135600000) 5.1 Channels PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Card

I have no experience with the XFX power supplies, but I did have a lot of warranty issues with several Radeon boards from XFX. They did stand behind their product and provided quality warranty services, but I would have preferred not to have had hardware issues in the first place. I had 3 fans die on XFX Radeon boards in the first 3-6 months of ownership, all due to engineering flaws IMHO.

The Creative Recon3D line is garbage. That being said, the G1 Sniper 3 has a little extra effort put into it to improve the on-board audio, including Nichicon Fine Gold audio capacitors and an upgraded headphone amp, AND includes a Creative Labs on-board audio DSP. My guess is that the on-board sound is going to be decent enough. Those olden days of "on board sound is crap" are over, at least when you start looking at premium motherboards with premium audio codecs and DSP on them.

Everything else looks OK to me!

Good luck with your build.

XFX power supplies are good but you're getting an 850w? MOAR WATTAGE please.

an overclocked i5 i7 with a 7970 on high overclocks can run on a 500w comfortably.

So then why would he want more power, 750W is more then enough, and 850 is overkill, take it from me, I have a 670 and i5 both overclocked and it barely uses 450W, so with the 7970 it should use about 550W (Im probably dead wrong but whatever). Useless to have more power then you will use, unless OP plans on crossfiring one day.

Well it really depends, people usually see about 70-85% gains (sometimes more sometimes less) but there are alot of games that still don't support crossfire (Borderlands 2 was one of them, I'm not sure if it was fixed). So you will get more graphic power, but it has the chance of not working in certain games (its always the ones you want wink.gif) in which case it will use only 1 of the cards.
I personally don't ever plan on using crossfire or SLI simply because I never want to have the compatibility problems ever, but if you can deal with certain games only using one, but most using both, I would highly recommend it.

1x3GB cards are normally better, VRAM does not stack in xfire or SLI. it is split, so you have 1.5GB of VRAM for each card. It also depends on what cards you are talking about. It is normally better to just go with a single more powerful card than to go with two lower grade cards.
