Crysis 1 @ 1080p

I today decided to play through crysis 1 again after many moons but i cant get it to run in steam at all full stop. I downloaded some 64 bit files folder including the exe so now i have the game running fine enough with a direct start from the 64bit exe folder but i can not get it to run in 1920x1080p.

Last year when i bought the collection i had this problem if i remember and i just manually entered the values in the config file, this file still remains but does no longer work. I have since changed to windows 8. I have tried entering the screen sizes in the in game console and the commands were unrecognised.

Its playing fine at the lower res but obviously my gpu`s are getting roughly 60% use at the lower res so wouldn`t mind upping to 1080p

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks

I assume you tried one of the stickies like this? http://steamcommunity.com/app/17300/discussions/0/864945401070748061/

Haven't reinstalled it since moving to windows 8 but I run the origin version which automatically comes with the 64 bit folder when installed. You can redeem your product code on origin and see if that works for you.

Generally speaking you can redeem your CD Key (product codes) for EA games on Origin and if the keys don't work talk to customer support and they'll probably just give you a new key.
