Just went SLI...overheating? - Page 6

Have you tried setting a custom fan profile? Like having the fans ramp up sooner rather than later (just make sure afterburner starts with windows to load the profile) Im running 2 MSI gtx 680 4g/OC cards and stay low 70s (71-73) under full strain inside my smallish 650D case.

I have the same board with 2 double overclocked GXT670's, without the side fan on the cards hit 80Oc with the side fan on they don't go above 75oc for the top one and 70oC for the bottom one

but you can set a profile to bring the fans in sooner, but its at the expense of noise!

It's the exhaust on the side of his case. I recently ran a test to see the difference between a side intake and a side exhaust and see which got me better GPU temps. My 7950 was around 75c with the intake and never went above that with the intake. With the exhaust my card got to 81c before I stopped testing (Using Crysis 3, hottest my card gets). It's the exhaust. Switch them around to intakes.

I agree, the side fan could definitely be affecting it.

I generally prefer side fans to be intake as well.

Kepler gpu's start throttling their boost at 70 deg. C, setting up a custom fan profile to try and stay under 70 definitely helps.

I would think the side fans as intake would be better but with the dynamics involved testing and trying different configurations will be the only way to know for sure.
