ASUS VG248QE help!!

Thread Starter
Hello i just recieved a ASUS VG248QE monitor and my eyes have never hurt so bad in my life.

I am running it at 144hz.

I have standard mode calibrated to brightness 55 and contrast 80 red/blue/green 90.

I don't have a professional calibrator.

When playing games i am using Game Mode and it looks so pretty i love it.

Game mode is default out of the box setting.

Is there something wrong i am doing?

My eyes feel like they are gonna fall out.

What mode do you guys play games with?

And what are your calibration settings maybe the one out of the box for game mode is just too intense? But it looks so god damn pretty

Please help me.

Also i cant seem to upload any icc profiles in windows 8. Whenever i upload it nothing changes...

As an experiment: Try temporarily setting the monitor to 100% brightness, and then reducing brightness via nVidia Control Panel. Colors won't be as good but do some gaming as a test. If your eyes stop hurting, then you might be suffering from PWM-related eyestrain.

If your eyes doesn't stop hurting, it may be anything else -- the excess brightness, color temperature, the gamma, the bad factory calibration, or even from increased amounts of prlonged eye movements (eye tracking tiring you out) caused by a sudden surge of gaming after getting a new monitor. Different eyes seem to be bothered by different things. If you game in darkness, try a small lamp behind your monitor to break the darkness better.
