If you have a flash drive big enough, you can use Microsoft's bootable flash drive program to put the .iso on it.

If i reset it back to factory settings to wipe the system it automatically starts to load up windows vista again id like to replace it with something more modern.

any help in this would be greatly appreciated some sort of step by step tutorial or a guide of some sort.

i have never done this before so any questions or anything else you need to know ask me no problem.

hope you can help thanks

Here is a link to the Dell site for drivers for you system.
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/inspiron-530

So you know there are no driver updates for Windows 8 only Vista 32 or Vista 64 bit and XP
You should be able to use Vista drivers for your Win 7 update, like I said you should be able to use the Vista drivers for your Windows 7 install.

You would want to have drivers for your Bios, Network, Chipset, Audio, and Card reader if you have one already downloaded on a USB drive or CD/DVD.
I would have those drivers downloaded before you begin installing Windows 7 and ready to use.
All of these are .exe files and install is easy, Just follow prompts.
Dell is good about letting you know about BIOS updates if you have kept on them.

This is the latest BIOS update for you system.
You can check this when computer boots up and look at bottom of screen for version number.
System BIOS, Inspiron Desktop 530 System BIOS, v1.0.18

Those are the main ones when installing Dell systems.
You will see a list of other drivers, you will have to see if those pertain to your system. I do not think you will any more
but you should double check after installation of windows and Windows update..

Because of different hardware you might have after you install those drivers, I would go into Device Manager
and make sure you do not have any exclamation marks or questions marks and address those problems if they exist
and install remaining drivers from the Dell web-site.
