[TPU] Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Mac Edition Pictured - Page 11

damn that's clean... why can't we have elegantly designed cards without having to pay triple the price
post #102 of 152
So who's going be the one to buy one for us and extract the BIOS of it, so we can build proper hackintosh's and flash our 7950's with that bios? smile.gif

When 10.8.3 comes out just put a 7950 in the hack and go..You don't need Apple EFI on hackintosh's

But back on topic, this thing has got me thinking about building a new shroud for my 6950. It would fit my case soooo well to have a white acrylic shroud eek.gif

Combine the 79XX kexts with the K5000 kexts, and the ban in Europe and we have a recipe for a new Mac Pro. The kexts for the Kepler have continued and improved even though there was never kepler available in a Mac Pro I think we'll even see three graphics card choices.

Had to sign up just to dispel the nonsense being spewed here. I'd really like to thank ez12a in particular for being honest and truthful with information, fighting against the anti-Apple fanboyism.

Apple is making no money from this card whatsoever. Sapphire did no dealing with Apple in making this card. Sapphire is making all of the money.

Don't spew this FUD.

Again, no, not in the slightest. This is a fantasy construct of the Windows world.

And you damn well better believe apple would have made it white if it was their choice. Whens the last time you saw a non-custom, non-limited-edition red apple anything?

1. The Radeon series cards provided by Apple in the past have always been ATI-branded, red-cased cards. The nVidia cards provided by Apple in the past have always been nVidia-branded, black and green-cased cards, or, in the case of the GT120, grey. No graphics cards provided by Apple have ever been white. Apple's choice is to have them not be white. Your argument is based in fallacy.

2. (product) RED is a cross-industry, cross-product, cross-platform campaign against AIDS. Regardless of your stance on the effectiveness campaign itself, the color has nothing whatsoever to do with Apple specifically.

Tim Cook has stated that the Mac Pro will be receiving an update this year. This aftermarket card, however, is not indicative of that.

There is no such thing as a "Mac part"

You're wrong, but only in this regard. OS X requires graphics cards with an EFI ROM.

1. The "rumor" was confirmed last year when Tim Cook stated they're releasing an update.

2. Fantasyland.
