[EG] Nvidia Apologizes To Tomb Raider PC Players. - Page 2

That doesn't make any sense. It's a coding issue and driver issue, not a graphics card issue. smh.

Game runs fine now. Haven't crashed since the first day. Turn off tesselation. Updated your graphics drivers.

What a difference a year makes. It was AMD users getting shafted with new games thanks to drivers not too long ago. I guess that driver investment is actually working.

Nvidia has been playing that game for 10 years.

This is why exclusive agreements are stupid.

Yuuup. I loathe it both ways. And anyone who takes this as a sincere apology from Nvidia has no clue how to decipher PR speak.

I see it as an excuse, be it warranted or not, rather than an apology.

An apology would be "we are sorry, we are working on it"

This reads more like "We are sorry, but it is not our fault. The Dev needs to work on it"

It may well be true, I don't know, but I still hate it when companies pass the buck instead of just dealing with the problem.

Seriously. It's getting a little annoying with everyone saying it's compute this, compute that.

The 580 has 150% the compute performance of the 680, but comparatively worse framerates when TressFX is turned on, why? Despite having significantly better compute power than the 680, it gets 76% the framerate the 680 does with TressFX turned on (compared to 80% relative performance with TressFX off).

There's something more than simply a lack of compute power going on here.

Lara's hair looks more life-like with TessFX on. It is unfortunate that the devs and Nvidia could not work on this issue sooner.

This is why exclusive agreements are stupid.

This isn't about AMD or NVidia, this is about Crystal Dynamics making very ridiculous decisions regarding QA testing. No company in their right mind would only test on ONE manufacturer. All other Gaming Evolved and TWIMTBP games are tested on both sets of hardware.

Considering that likely 90% of their sales will be on console, I doubt they very much care to be honest. I mean look at SimCity, PC only and even they don't seem to care if it runs or not.
