Why are you being impossible? DirectCompute works exactly like OpenCL and CUDA.
Microsoft DirectCompute is an application programming interface (API) that supports general-purpose computing on graphics processing units on Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. DirectCompute is part of the Microsoft DirectX collection of APIs and was initially released with the DirectX 11 API but runs on both DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 graphics processing units. The DirectCompute architecture shares a range of computational interfaces with its competitors - the Khronos Group's Open Computing Language (OpenCL) and NVIDIA's Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA).
Why are you choosing a battle with someone who's income relies on this technology?
I'm not taking a side on red or green. I am simply stating that for the most part a 580 out-computing a 680 is mostly synthetic and not in real world applications. Its proven.
Also, thank you for the tutoring on google search.
