[DO] EA Refusing Refunds Over Simcity. - Page 47

It's a simple business transaction. Far too many people were sold a game as playable and it simply wasn't playable. This issue wasn't a small graphics glitch or a minor fps issue with certain GPUs. It is horrid customer service (and not to mention just a bad practice overall) to sell people a product that doesn't work when it should be working.

I feel like I'm just repeating myself again and again. All I'm saying is give them a chance to fix the problem before asking for a refund. If it doesn't work after a certain amount of time, then it is reasonable to ask for a refund.

Thanks to Gabe Newell and Steam, If the perspective of PC gaming are really different than a few years ago;
EA is just a ridiculouse company, I hope that everyone, sooner or later, will be aware of this evidence.

Steam has similar terms as EA.

That should be up to the individual customer to decide though. If they're happy to wait, then that's awesome. If they're not, give them back their money and move on.

P'S I must stop watching the let's plays because even though I hate EA being able to say when I have had enough of playing it I'm tempted I enjoyed number 4

man, if you liked the prevous ones AT ALL... you will not want to miss this one. Gameplay wise, they hit it out of the park. I have not had server issues, since friday morning, so it's really a non-issue, at this point.

I'll +1 that. It's great. The AI pathing is kind of bad and annoying at times when it comes to firefighters, ambulances, police, and Maxis Man. I've witnessed fire trucks go around a block 3 times and start shooting water at the house next door to the one that's actually on fire. /facepalm. They shoot water at it for as long as the correct house is on fire, which of course means the right house will just burn down unless other trucks happen to get to it. I wouldn't call that game breaking though, it's just an inconvenience when your'e trying to accomplish a challenge to get a $50k award and whatnot.

Then what we have here is just a fundamental disagreement on what constitutes a reasonable transaction between a company and a buyer and what constitutes reasonable customer service.

In my opinion, if I buy a game and it has some graphical issues or it randomly crashes to desktop like once in hours of gameplay, then yeah. I'll wait for a patch.

If I buy it and I am unable to even play the game (i.e. even use it to begin with) to the point of frustration, then I deserve a refund if I don't want to wait.

That's how it is with other things. If they don't work when I buy them, I can get a refund.

So you're willing to wait possibly weeks or even months for a patch that resolves a crash over waiting 1-5 days for a massive server upgrade/rollout that'll resolve your long wait/inaccessibility problems? God. Where's lordikon? I need to tell him to update his OCN meter in his signature.

Hahaha EA digging their own graves and seriously who in their right mind would buy a game that has always online DRM protection.

Seriously it's crap like this that is making me slowly give up and lose faith in PC gaming all together.

Last I remember his took the meter out of his sig. Simply wasn't humanly possible to meter such a thing on OCN. I do miss it though.

Not being able to play the game at all versus a graphical glitch or a crash to desktop once a day? Yeah, I would personally.

No need to talk to me in a condescending manner though as you have absolutely no rationale behind asserting that a company should not offer refunds for selling a product that does not even begin to do its main function for many people.

It's not really an elusive concept: not being playable at all versus a graphical glitch.
