Newest batch of 3570K's OCing like crazy - Page 41

3570k: So the temp being reported in BIOS is 40c,but in OS it is 26c. Is this the difference between the motherboard temp sensor and the sensors internal to each core that is read in the OS? What are the idle loads like in BIOS?
Power saving features aren't enabled in BIOS, which would explain why temps are higher in BIOS.

Yup in BIOS I think CPU is run at full speed or power saver are disabled thus makes temp higher.

For 3570K, my friend told me that 323... or 324... have good OC performance, I have 3570K batch 3221C079 costarica can do 4.5GHz 1.185 Volt and my friend have 3570K batch 323... can do 4.7GHz 1.175 Volt... Just for information, but it is true you need to test it by your self.

Thanx mate smile.gif but I think if I can do lower than 1.25 Volt or at least 1.25 Volt for 2600K at 4.5GHz then it is good chip.

@ neoroy - I have two solid 2500K's in-house, 4.5GHz on (1.282-1.312v) and 4.0GHz on (1.24-1.28v) as I consider them good chips.

first 3570K was GAWD awful 4.4GHz on (1.368v) @ 74-81C and that was with a Hyper 212 Evo.
second 3570K is perfect for me, 4.4GHz on (1.248v) @ 61-64C and that's on a TX3 with dual 92mm fans because I moved the Evo to another rig.

moral to the story is that it's like the luck of the draw....

Does anyone know Microcenter's exchange/return policy for CPU's, specifically? Mine is six weeks old, but it's absolutely horrible. (4.4 @1.35v) frown.gif

I want to swap it out, but I'm not sure how to do so without losing money. Any ideas?
