And how bad can your 4770k be? My 3570k is pure trash. Needs over 1.35v for 4.5.

Don't worry, I saw it tongue.gif

my 4770k is not stable in non-synthetic benchmarks with 4.2ghz frequency and 34x uncore @ 1.3v VID and 1.2v Vring (with my 2133mhz Dominator Platinum's downclocked to 1600mhz 11-11-12-31).

I'm in this crappy position where I'm having to consider running at 4.1ghz @ 1.3vcore, with no overclock on the uncore or the ram, which still might not be stable. I've already tested and found that I can't hold a stable 100mhz overclock (4.0ghz) with my memory running at it's validated factory specs.

Ouch, you consider the intel protection plan and just pushing it until it dies so you can get a replacement?

Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.7 GHz 1.315v is pretty good for a full stable over clock right?

Yes, that's easily above average.

yep, very much considering it, as well as ways i could speed up the dying process using methods undetectable to intel's RMA team lachen.gif

1.5Vcore no heatsink, quick and painless.

Doesn't matter what I drop my ram to... 1333 or 2400, i still get the exact same OC results. 4.8 @ 1.425

Asrock z77 - i'd buy a DMM and check how the vcore actually is if your board has readout points, or try it in another board! It's great if it's actually @1.28vcore or close to it, but might be like 1.35 and just "amazing" instead of kgkshgsjghskgdshjinsane

When I tested my board I have variations of Vcore all the way up to .130 off in worse case scenarios. Pretty scary when you are talking about overclocking for 5.0+ Thats worse case scenario, on my board if I use LLC3 at 1.18 for 45x it is only .040 off. It is like the board has a mind of its own as to what it wants to report your VCore at...great for e-peen screen shots though biggrin.gif

Edit to add: he will probably not have readout points available without having access to the back of the board. ASRock only put those points on the more exotic boards like the OC Formula.

1.28 is what I personally set it to in the bios and hwmonitor is actually reporting voltages as low as 1.161 under load.
