Cheap liquid cooling setup

Thread Starter
Okay so i have 0 experance with liquid cooling but we all need to learn some how..

okay so i was thinking of putting a kit together for less then $200~

so far i think this would be good:
block
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2592
rad
http://www.xoxide.com/dd-black-ice-xtremeii-38.html (it's going into a thermaltake armor in the front)
http://www.xoxide.com/dangerden-blac...xtreme-38.html

so it come out around $155~ +s/h and no pump/tubes/res

Maybe you guys can put together a high quality kit for cheap ( reallllllly want DD and 240mm+120mm rad's)

I think the Swiftech Apogee would suit you better....
http://store.yahoo.com/xoxide/swifte...ter-block.html

It's actually a bit cheaper and performs well.

If your going to buy a Black Ice series rad, get it from dangerden.com

This is the Black Ice GTS 240..It's a pretty decent Rad..IMO
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...&cat=86&page=1

Wait, you want 2 Rads? Why???????

With your rig, you only need one 240 rad

Danger Den D5 pump $74.95
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...&cat=23&page=1

DD Fillport Res (not needed but it's cool)
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...0&cat=6&page=1

Make sure you get the fillport and the poly T line as well (1/2")

10' of Clearflex 1/2" ID , 3/4" OD tubing $1.25/ ft
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...&cat=33&page=1

If you get the Fillport and Res and T-Line
Total = $226.70

If you go without the Fillport Res and just get the T-Line and Fillport
Total = $199.05 + Shipping.

well, you don't need 2 rads, just get a good double rad and call it good. go with a Swiftech Apogee cpu block and get a D5 pump. Then get some 1/2" ID tubing, a T line, fillport and you'll be good to go

Just to let you know.

I have a 7800GT SLI Rig w/ an Opty 175 sitting next to me. Your not going to be doing any "insane" overclocking unless you do the Voltmod (Not only the BIOS one, but the "hardmod").

Mine maxed out at lik 480-485 on the core. Can't member the mem.

Anywho, when in SLI, whichever card ends up oc'ing the lowest, will limit your OC on both cards.

You should just get a triple RAD and mod the top of the case for it.

Ok. so now you need two GPU blocks as well correct?

Not gonna happen for $200, unless you use Thermaltakes blocks...or their entire system for that matter.

Read my post above..

Paradox
What blocks do they have on them and what size are the barbs?

They are already volt mod and stable at 520/1600 and the bios are flashed at that speed also and they are both hard moded to 1.55v on the core and not sure on the memory but you can't beat $150 for a pair!

I just want a double in the front and a single in the back more for astecics then function tbh... i don't think having one dually and a single would bring down the efficiency unless i had a weak pump

they come with 1/2 and 3/8 barbs so it's kinda open ended

you don't really need to watercool the NB..Just get the Evercool VC-RE Cooler..it works wonders...
