Well, here's a video I took of ArmA 3 with Afterburner in the corner.

The % is the GPU optimization

Anyone knows if there is a SLI profile for this game? I'm getting awful performance with my SLI...

That does actually help a lot, but it still isn't running at nearly 100% optimization.

So did you single out if it's software(gpu calibration game related) or if it is your HDD? it looks like it is the hard drive, but by all means, I wouldnt put it past Bohemia, Arma 2's GPU problems with the trending notion that it's going to be no different with Arma 3.Hell I always thought there god awful code was causing massive memory leakage for a game(Arma 2) to really need 16gb's of RAM...

I'm Running on a 3820, GTX 580 OS SSD Samsung 840 Pro, Game SSD Samsung 840. I haven't noticed, yet have I been monitoring the infamous bottleneck issue, but I'll test it out for myself...I do agree it is an alpha, but not much changed the game with Arma 2 when they were complaining about the same issues back then, even with A.C.E. installed over it.
It does look like yours is the hard drive, taxing, but I'm always suspicious when it comes to Arma...

Same engine.
Different name.
Same old code.

Same performance issues.
It is also Bohemia, rather "small" company, they wont do anything big in terms of optimization.
They completely forgot about it when it came to Arma 2, they didnt even do anything with OA. They just removed every single tree and grass and added simple plain desert with little to no towns!

I get 18-22 fps in "Retake the Airfield" 32 player MP game. On Lowest settings.
GPU usage 20-25%
CPU 50%.

My game is on an SSD, a 128GB Samsung 830 so, why would the HDD(in my case SSD) be in anyway affecting the performance?
Theres nothing to load when the world is already loaded.

I installed it to my HDD, not my SSD. I don't think that should bottleneck a game by more than about 2 fps honestly. I am getting crap for frames on my old 5750, but I am worried to upgrade and get nearly no improvement. I was going to buy a 7870, but now I am not sure if it would even help that much considering with medium settings I get 30FPS. I'd imagine with the 7870 I would get 30FPS on high (not ultra) settings. Is that a good assumption to make or am I wrong?

That's your problem. Don't play on lowest settings. If you change everything to lowest settings, it shifts most of the work over the the CPU, leaving hardly anything for the GPU to do. Lowest settings is meant for people with bad graphics cards, don't use it if you have a powerful GPU.

Either you're doing something wrong with your game settings, or it's an Nvidia thing. I'm running a Radeon HD6950, and this game uses nearly 95% of the GPU at all times. Here's a video to demonstrate, just keep in mind that my CPU is not as good as yours, so I took an FPS hit while playing and recording. If I wasn't recording, it would have been in the 35-45 range.

"Thats your problem"
You see, doesnt matter which settings I run, I could run a mix of High-Ultra.
I could run a mix of Low-Ultra.
I could run everything High.
Everything Ultra.

Still TERRRRRRRRRRRIBLE perforamnce in Multi.
