was thinking of getting a 480 gtx but there kinda high would tri sli gtx 260 have a big boost in performance/

Personally i would get the 480 just to avoid sli for the moment. the 480 also means you can add another in the future when you want even more performance.

I think you'll find that 480s will keep their value much better than the 260s in case you go to sell them in the next few years.
