i had some problems with my temps and i ve opened it to clean it..
i restored the originals but the card started to have problems and not working.
it works for some seconds,and then it closes to protect it.
so i want to change the pads because i think that its a temperature issue..
the original pads are not in a good condition...

I've used this before on my 4870x2's ...

3M 8815 Thermally Conductive Adhesive Transfer Tape - 2" x 2"

I just had to cut my own shapes out of 2-3 of them for all the various component locations.

As far as where to put them ...

Red = Thermal Pads
Yellow = Thermal Paste

Get Fujipoly Thermal pads.

Usually .5 - 1mm.
post #8 of 11
Id just get the cheapest pads you can find that bit, from ebay or something.

Fujipoly is too expensive and a waste for an old card.

are those compatible??
http://www.checkmate.gr/products.php?pid=10460
how much does fujipoly cost?
so if i m correct.i have to buy some pads and cut them to the proper size,right?
and a last thing,is there any picture to tell me exactly where to put the pads,in case i forget something??
thanks for your time.. smile.gif

Anything with the proper thickness is compatible [so measure them]

It should be 0.5mm, 1.0mm, or 1.5mm.

Some rare cases.. 0.7mm, 2.0mm.

Fujipoly is only available at FrozenCPU[AFAIK} http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l2/g8/c487/list/p1/Thermal-Thermal_Pads_Tape.html
They are the "Premium/Extreme/Ultra" tabs on that page.

Plus tack on at least $4 shipping. There is 5% off code xtreme, though.
