Thread Starter
ok i just bought 2 SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB in crossfire mode to replace my SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 5750 1GB video card

SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 5750 1GB
710 MHz Core Clock
720 x Stream Processors
4640 MHz Effective

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB
1100 MHz Core Clock
640 x Stream Processors
5200 MHz Effective

so im curious did i was my money since the Stream Processors on the 7770 are lower then the 5750 or does the clock speed on the 7770 back up the Stream Processors since its its alot faster

On stock I think a single 7770 outperforms a 5750 by about 20-40% depending on the game. So two 7770's will smoke the 5750 easily.

Just wondering though, do you always just buy things without doing research as to whether you're actually improving anything ?

overall the HD7770 would be stilll faster at same clocks due to efficiency gains from the architectural change.

I sense that English is not your first language. I assume you want to know if you wasted your money. A fast video card is usually not essential for life. So yes, you did waste your money. But if you feel like you didn't then you didn't. smile.gif

Performance difference should be significant. Since you own them, 5 mins of gaming should get you your answer. Also, why did you get 2 of those? You would've been way better off with single GPU, and you would've gotten a quite nice one too with the money.

OP which country are you from ? is there a possibility to change your order ? you could have easily gone for a HD 7870 Tahiti LE for the cost of two HD 7770 cards. its faster than HD 7770 CF and has 2GB VRAM . also it has more bandwidth which helps in high MSAA situations. frankly you should have done a bit of research before picking up the card. a single GPU will give you consistent performance without any dependence on CF profiles. also it would be smoother than multi gpu.

Can I ask why you picked up two 7770's vs a single 7950? Even a 5850 overclocked would be pretty fast biggrin.gif

i do my research but i though i no its always have to though but when i got the cards i though that since the clock and memory clock were so high it would give me alot of proformance thats why i didnt pay much attention to the SPU
