I want to cool my Asus GTX 670 by using side intake fan but my case don't have side intake panel. Is there other way to cool my GPU?
Cut a side intake fan hole and put an intake fan on it

Is it necessary? How about silverstone air penetrator installed at bottom intake?

you have many options actually.
first we need to know what case you have and what components you have.. go to your profile and fill in your rig in your signature.

now to the options.
1- you can place a 120mm behind the HDD Chases
2- You can place a bottom intake
3- you don't need to cut the side.. Choose the place of your fan.. get a drill. and some mesh cloth. Draw the circle of the fan and make drills in a hexagon shape using like 5mm drill pin. cover it with a mesh to keep dust out.. have fun

Have fun

My case is Xigmatek Asgard 382 with a rear exhaust installed by default.

in the upper HDD chase there is a perfect spot for a 120mm to push air to that card.. a side mount would be more perfect but that side panel glass will break under a drill if you are not careful.

so that leaves us with a fan on the HDD chase or a bottom intake.. choose your best fit smile.gif

How about bottom intake? Is it perfect? Which fan to consider? Arctic F12 PWM or Silverstone Air Penetrator?

So you only have one fan in your case now?

Most modern hi-performance systems use at least 2 and usually 3 fans; rear exhaust, 1or 2 front and 1 bottom. Your case does not have much vent in the front but I would put a fan in there and one iin bottom to if you have a bottom vent.

I prefer PWM because it's easier to control the speed automatically from motherboard.. depending what mobo you have. I control all my case fans with PWM from mobo. Many modern GPU use PWM fans too so it's even possible to control fans supplying air to GPU with GPU PWM signal too.

I use PWM signal from CPU fan socket with a 5x PWM splitter with a molex power socket. The PWM comes from mobo and power from PSU and CPU cooler fan is master fan.

If using GPU fan PWM control you will need a mini PWM splitter between GPU and normal PWM splitter with a mini PWM to normal PWM adapter.

Yes I have an exhaust fan installed by default. My HDD is positioned at the same line with my GPU. Can I just install a front fan to cool both?

Yes you can. And I suggest a bottom fan too.

I added more info to last post. too

I suggest raising your case up so you have 40mm clearance. This is because than the area of fan is about the same as the space between floor/desktop and bottom of case.
