Although originally i wanted to buy a 7970 , i settled for the 670 because i wanted to SLI , and at the time every forum specifically told me "stay away from CF" , plus AMD cards cost a bundle over here in Greece compared to Nvidia , i don't know how bad the stutter on the AMD cards is right now , but i'm still gonna recommend Nvidia for multi GPU setups biggrin.gif

Me too please. I'm planning to add one more 7970 to my rig, non ghz edition though. You think it's fine vs the ghz edition ones?

mike, i can't tell you. afaik, an o'ced 7970 is exact same as 7970 ghz ed at same clocks. so, in crossfire they should have the same performance or issues.

The MSI 7950 has a 960mhz boost clock, so if you don't want to oc it try and get the highest clocked one you can.

Kinda bad to recommend somthing you havet researched and understand very well i have owned a 5970 and 5870 in crossfire no micro stutter and my 7970s in crossfire are fine amd is fixing any problems they have just as fast as nvdia if now faster now days they have really ramped up gettting better drivers out faster.

To op id go with the 7950 monster at stock and when you want more speed can overclock it 100-200mhz usualy.

Nobody said i haven't researched , i've both amd and nvidia cards that don't stutter and both nvidia and amd cards that do , it's just that from what i've heard\seen\researched the percentage of Nvidia cards that stutter in SLI and above configurations is smaller than the percentage of AMD CF stutter thumb.gif
