Recommend upgrades for video editing ($600~)

Thread Starter
I have started to do some video editing and my current computer is very old. I would like to upgrade the CPU, RAM, motherboard, and perhaps get an SSD.
The most intensive use for this PC will be video editing using Premiere Pro CS6. I also encode videos using x264.

I only edit 1080p content with a maximum video duration of 15 minutes. So I don't think I need an i7 for this.
From the benchmarks I have seen the i7 2600k is only a small percentage faster than the i5 2500k in video editing programs. I care only about real world performance. It doesn't justify the price increase for me.

I upgrade only once every 7 years so this set up must last until then. I don't know if 32 GB RAM will be enough in 2020!? I imagine Firefox and chrome to bloat up even more by then wink.gif

Getting an SSD now seems questionable. I'm not sure if they can even last 7 years. Also, I don't mind that Firefox takes 10 seconds to load.

I am considering the following upgrades. Everything else is in my signature.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($214.98 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Biostar TZ68K+ ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($79.98 @ Outlet PC)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($189.99 @ Best Buy)
Storage: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($115.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $630.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Is there anything here that is not good, or something that is better suited to my needs? (I'm buying my parts in the US)

Finally, I can't wait for Haswell as I'm going to US in April. Thankfully the dollar is so low compared to my home currency that I make a big saving.

You should go towards amd a 8350 with a good mobo . Also a gpu upgrade will help you the 4xxx is really out dated

An 8350 and a good Mobo will beat a 2500k at video work and heavily multi threaded stuff, also for Adobe Premier, get yourself a Nvidia card, Cuda and adobe.

Haswell's coming out in June, not April. And for video editing, I'd recommend an i7-3770K + a Z77-chipset motherboard, as the hyper-threading will help with that. If there's a Microcenter near where you're visiting in the US, they have excellent in-store deals for both items.
