[PCGH.de] Titan sli Vs 7970 Toxic cf - Page 61

I'd rather not jump to any conclusions... Unlike everyone who seems to think that using AMD hardware obviously means automatic performance increase for AMD in the PC side of things.

If those AMD GPUs have some specific feature that will be utilized a lot in the consoles then yes but until then I'd like to see people run some OpenGL demo designed by AMD with DirectX and report back with results...

Playing the games maxed it out, it vary setup to setup....User to User it always going to be different...

Starting with in-game settings up to AA and the resolutions or avg 30 vs 60 or vs 120 etc....

That's why I don't understand his over sensationalist posts sometimes. Well said.

The dictionary definition. teaching.gif

use·less [yoos-lis]

1. of no use; not serving the purpose or any purpose; unavailing or futile: It is useless to reason with him.
2. without useful qualities; of no practical good: a useless person; a useless gadget.

To describe a Titan as useless after 1.5 years just doesn't make any sense.

Similar hardware is hardly reason to claim better optimization (at least noticeable) if you have to access it through different means on different devices.

I will have to agree with the other guys on this one.

AMD hardware running the consoles will give AMD the edge, simply because they're going to be working closely with developers in optimizing for AMD hardware. This relationship with developers will naturally give AMD hardware an edge IMO. How big of an edge if any remains to be seen.

Naturally, Intel / Nvidia are not going to have as close of a relationship with devs as AMD will.

We'll see how it all plays out.

It scares me to think that people think 1000 dollar hardware is gonna be useless anytime soon.

Also, Alatar, sorry bro but you're wrong on this one. Games are developed for hardware where the mass majority will enjoy them, 50% of the PC market and 100% of the console market, come on, devs aren't going to ignore that math.

I still think even if AMD came close to the developers and the games are designed on their hardware, that still doesn't guarantee the games will always run better on their PC counterparts.
Far Cry 3 & Crysis 3 to name a few are examples of this, those games are Gaming Evolved titles but they run better on competition's hardware.

Why should we? OpenGL works in Windows, Linux, and even Mac too. It's kinda a Standard. It's also what every Mac/Linux capable game runs on.

Titan's price has to come down in order to make it relevant next year or even after the GTX 780 is released...
