Awesome, thanks for checking it out. You find a way to save up the money, or convince someone else to get it for you, it's gonna be well worth it I tell ya. wink.gif

Once you try those Gelid fans I'd like to know your opinion to know if they're louder or quieter (At full blast 1200rpm) than AP-15's at 1850RPM (Which are loud to me tongue.gif)

I can tell you right now. I've been using them for a couple years now, they're just being transferred from the old build into this case. wink.gif

First thing, max speed on the 120mm's is 1800rpm, not 1200. At 1800, you're going to hear them no doubt. But, I've had 8 going at once in my previous build, and even at full tilt, it's more of a "whoosh" and not overbearing.
I keep them on a controller though, and they respond very well to undervolting. They are very quiet even at a mid range 9V or so.

Just thought, I'm guessing the reason you mention 1200rpm though is because you're talking about the 140mm version of the Gelids? If that's the case, if they sound anything like the 120mm fans do at 1200rpm, you'll barely hear them.

That's awesome, I was worried because at 1200rpm they're rated at 26dB while the AP-15's are rated at 29dB at 1850RPM, so it kinda worried me that the Gelid's at 1200rpm would be as loud as the AP-15's at 1850RPM. eek.gif

Well since I've never used the 140's, maybe something like this can give you a better idea of what you could expect from them. thumb.gif
EDIT: Not related, but found this interesting. smile.gif

I actually jumped when the water splashed out and got all over the connector to the controller block... rolleyes.gif Guess it's nice to know they won't be affected by a leak... but then again I couldn't care less if my FANS all shorted out... it's everything else that would make me cry. biggrin.gif

IKR? I mean I felt some incontinence when I totaled up my 12 AP13's - but I could replace all of them at least twice for the price of my MB or one of my GPUs. Even the PSU would cover them with money to spare.

Some pics of breaking down the FT03, and blocking the components.

The 690 is one sexy card IMO, gonna miss the air cooler, a little.

eek.gif Naked 690!
