thoughts on the amd 8350 piledriver

Thread Starter
im a first time builder and ive been looking at the 3570k and the piledriver 8350

so my question is what do you dudes and lasses think of the piledriver cpu against the 3570k for GAMING, 3D/2D CAD DESIGN, WATCHING MOVIES MUSIC INTERNET SURFING.

I know you need a good graphics card for gaming ive got that sorted and a sound card for good audio also got that

the 3570K
it beats the 8350 for gaming and if you are using autocad, you won't need the multithreading the the 8350:
Support for multi-core processors with AutoCAD
Quote:
AutoCAD only supports multi-core technology in a couple of very specific areas of the product, including:

2D regeneration
MentalRay rendering

the same for internet browsing, watching movies and listening to musci.

thanks for the picture that will come in handy

from a video that i just watched even tho amd has the 8 core its not as efficient as a intel 4 core

there are a few single instances that require some heavy mutli threading that the 8350 will do better at; keep in mind multi threading does not automatically mean multi tasking. and there are a few games that the 8350 will give the 3570K a run for its money. but for overall general consistency, if you can afford the few $$s more, the 3570K is a better chip.

Honestly it isnt much of a difference. the REAL deal breaker for me is that the new intel sockets are not going to be 1155. but the new Steamrollers will be AM3+ i would get an AMD at this moment.
