Other than that, this is all subject to change per your recommendations smile.gif

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k
Motherboard: EVGA z77 Stinger
RAM: 16 GB of whatever
GPU: GTX 670 or 680.... brand tbd (thoughts?)
PSU: Silverstone ST45SF-G
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro (size tbd)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

One big question I have is whether I can get away with the stock cooler on the GPU in this case. Anyone have any thoughts?

Lastly, would it be possible for me to get access to CAD for the side panel? I have access to a laser cutter, and have some ideas for a custom panel.

Thanks!

Bradpowers, nice colour choice, mine is Satin Dark Grey.

Regarding your GPU question, see below the links to the compact splash build, there are discussions there about stock GPU fitting - Sorry, I do not know how to post simple links to other posts rolleyes.gif

I'm going with a dark blue. I gave the colour code for my Subaru in the description so hopefully it can be matched lol.

Parts are your basic P8Z77-I with a 2550K and an EVGA 670 4gig. I've gotten some watercooling handmedowns so now just need the radiators, pumptop res and cpu block. Going to be an interesting tight space for my first wc build.

I'm also hoping other power supply options are released before it delivers.

Welcome to the forums!

Solid build there, but I would get a different board from the EVGA, personally. When I was shopping around, I found that the ASRock and ASUS boards both had similar features, but were much cheaper. If you like it, go for it, it's not a bad board or anything, but I do think the other two boards are better bang for your buck. Other than that you have a solid build! In terms of GPU brand, I've always liked EVGA and ASUS, but it doesn't really matter that much. EVGA does have one of the best warranties though.

Then hammer Corsair, Seasonic, and pick a third manufacturer you like with emails suggesting SFX PSU's. The more they hear from us, the more inclined they'll be to make it for us. 500-550W should be more than doable, possibly even fanless (which would be VERY awesome).

Thanks for the tips. I've only started wading through that thread, it's good to know there will be cooling slots in the bottom. I'm also considering doing one of those all in one coolers on my GPU with one of the Triptcc brackets, but it seems that either will work.

Yeah, not super attached to the board, only put it there as there was a screaming deal on it last week at Microcenter, but that's gone now.... so yeah, going with something else most likely.

Thanks for the thoughts all!

brad - one other thing I'd look into are quieter fans for the H100i. I just got one running yesterday and the stockies are LOUD! Consider swapping them out for Gentle Typhoons or Cougars.

Yeah, I'll definitely be looking into that. Fortunately, I live down the street from a Microcenter, so I'll just pop over there and check things out.

Added and welcome to the club! I am nagging SLE about a SketchUp Model of the case he is going to post the components some time soon but I dont know if he will give up the case. (I dont think he should either) But the Side Panel shouldn't be a problem.

Has anyone sent a email suggesting SFX PSU'S? I am willing to if others have as I would love a fully modular Corsair PSU with gold ratings.
