Wisk - good for ya mate!
I've got my feet on two boats in choppy waters
Slightly off topic, but here goes!
Which wire is most appropriate for sleeving the 45SF-G unit...? and which one should I be gunning for? 16AWG or 18AWG.
A lil backstory to fill in the gaping holes in my next question
Most of you will know that the worlds ships and liners are decommissioned to be cut down into scrap, and these dead boats find there way to Bangladesh to be cut down for mere cents and used in our metallurgy industry. The other benefit most of us residents
get is the left over junk from these boats - that range anywhere from kitchen sinks all the way to sun deck chairs. Yeap, a real garage sale if you asked me
Now from these ships we also get wires - and lots of em. I recently went to a shop to scope out some top tier wires for my renovation project and found some alarmingly thin wires. That left me wondering - "can I use it for sleeving or even rewiring my psu's with them (irrespective of sleeves)?"
Since I can get it weighed and bought for far less than the price of a coil I thought next time I go, why not ?
Thus my next question, what sort of thickness should I be looking for in these sleeving rated wires(or wires worthy of a PSU rewire of a solid color) since they don't have distinguishing markings on its insulation apart from a few of them having numbers....and I can't exactly explain to them what 16/18AWG wire is besides that just might increase the prices more than two fold
and also because they aren't wire literate...
long story short - I can purchase wires by the kilogram instead of ordering them online
and I'd like to proceed if it checks out on my end!
