Potential Feet Upgrade Kit available SLE?
Good idea man... to be honest I had no idea the original feet were so lame until I started seeing build pics. My suppliers specs were wrong and they were way shorter than they should have been. I'll be ordering extras & it'd be pretty easy to make them available for ~$10 a set. They're not as sexy as MNPC stuff (just adhesive-backed rubber), but they're about 1/2" tall to allow airflow thru the HDD vents.

It seems like Kyle isn't stretching us at all, given the circumstances.
I appreciate the gesture and of course wouldn't mind if you or anyone else wanted to kick in more $$ to help make up some of the extra investment I've put in. But I don't expect it and set the $20/30 price increase as a happy medium between the new & old costs. My goal is making up some of the overruns but not putting the case out of reach of anyone who preordered because frankly I (and the rest of us) wouldn't be here without your early support.
To answer your question directly, powder will end up costing me between $25 and $30 per case. It's still being negotiated and we may be able to find some labor savings during the revised prototyping phase to bring the cost to the lower end of that range.

I agree with you WiSK I cant say much for the people, but all I know is powder coating costs ALOT more than $10 so I am sure if there are some generous souls out there I hope they wouldn't mind paying a little bit more for their case. Given the option to powder coat my case I would have and paid the extra fees no problem!
I like the new poll better anyway hahah.

BTW golfer you rock big time - a chart or tally won't compare to the big heart you have
so a few bad apples BIG DEAL!?!?!
Yeah I agree, the email update Kyle passed on was quite a mouthful and brought a few tears of joy in seeing how the plan seems to be ramped up in organization compared to the first outing Cheers Kyle
I've been curious of the case feet as well and I couldn't help but wonder that Kyle maybe using MNPCtech's mini case feet;
^ I'd like to get 4 sets of these for my 4 cases. was wondering if there was the space to drill a few holes and use them...? or I could just get them free via this "new case feet
If any of you are interested in the cost of powdercoating it costs 10 times more than $10. I'm guessing that batching the production and painting will bring some of the costs down and the remaining deficit will be covered by Kyle. I'm paying more btw - have been talking about this via email since a long time
Guys got heart and I'm not interested in putting a guy this honest into the ground! So wisk+golfer - I'm joining your league
Btw, I'm yet to reply to Kyle's update...just woke up from bed
For those uninformed Lutfi is referring to cost for custom color. I quickly found that custom one-off powdercoating carries a $125 minimum charge (give or take), which is why we had to scrap custom colors from production. So if you're one of the first 20 that got it, consider yourself lucky!

I must say I love the MNPC feet alot but I dont know how well they would fit the profile of splash... actually looking again it would look good lol but at an extra $25 you can keep it lol. I have my splash sitting on my desk beside me but it actually sits on a piece of fabric as the original little stick on feet thing were sticking to my desk and marking it so now it is on the fabric which works well
This, SLE is really an amazing guy and I know there are a handful of you out there that are probably getting really annoyed and fed up with all this waiting and changing of plans and what not but believe me the amount of work that he has done is amazing! Dwood on the other hand I am still disappointed with, as he did not complete my order... But SLE is working all night on getting these things done, some times things takes longer than he anticipates but even at 4:00AM he is working on updates for everyone and again by 11:00AM he is back at it again touching up the update.
Thanks golfer! We'll see how annoyed everyone is this week if/when I get any refund requests. But either way we're now firing with both barrels whether 50 of us make it to the end or only 20. I actually have a few tricks up my sleeve to give people more incentive to make it all the way to the end. The real reason to stick it out is still the case though so my focus for the immediate future will be making sure the end product is as great as the original concept.
