Also contemplating a GPU upgrade, however I'm on a upgrade cycle for the release of Star Citizen, so my GTX 670 can work for now.
I'd like to mention that the Artic Cooling Accelero Hybrid is fully compatible with the R9 290 and R9 290x, AND ....
I am hoping to do this if I get the Splash:
if you set up a custom vrm solution with 92mmx14mm pwm fans, you can keep the VRAM cool too.
I'm thinking about a 2 seperate Asetek closed loop systems.
If I do that, I can have my system up and running in under 4 hours and start testing for overclocking as I move from a ATX to mITX mobo.
Basically I have to apply aluminum heatsinks to my GTX 670 and let the adhesive set.

will all fit in the Splash if you remove the 2.5" ssds on the bottom. and the plastic shield and fan from the 740GN kit.
replace shield and fan with slim 92 or 80 mm pwm fans, create a custom interior shroud using fan gasket type material, add a DEMCIflex filter on bottom of case, buy slightly taller feet. Be done with project in under 6 hours.
I came to the conclusion that when I upgrade to a GTX 780 or R9 290, I will hit a wall with the 450W SFX PSU, which means the full GPU block is overkill for this particular application.
I really hope someone tries to install the other active Overclock.net Artisan chmod's Sigma Cool GPU AiO bracket
to a GPU inside the Splash. I don't want to fidget with the rotary connections on the other Asetek CPU block/pumps.
