I usually do, but regretfully I did not this time. frown.gif With that in mind, I probably should send back the mobo and CPU and keep the PSU.

I highly doubt it's the chip. It's more than likely the board. Lesson learned I think? wink.gif

Try loosening the CPU water block a bit, and put some plastic tape between the water block plate behind the mobo and the mobo itself that's not protected by the rubber gasket.

That's if the mobo lights up when powered (without the CPU water block installed), of course.

I had the same symptoms, and wasted way too much time trying to figure it out.

It doesn't light up at all. Edit I stripped down everything and the mobo did light up and boot. Apparently it is the backplate for the block, as you said. Thanks!! thumb.gif Its getting too late to put everything back together. I have to get up early and move stuff to my new place. So I'll work on this sucker tomorrow night. Thanks again!! +rep

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/33753221/dan-cases-a4-sfx-the-worlds-smallest-gaming-tower

i ordered one for Office of my dad. for me it's not for gaming (or not for my gaming-needs) but for him it's massive enough and it could sit on his table. for an old man back very important. wink.gif

Hefner,
I've been following it since it's conception on [H] and that thing can only be a relative of the Ncase M1 but never a nimble chassis like the Compact Splash tongue.gif

Kennah,
Yeap!

I'm having a weird thing happen since my rebuild. When I flip the psu switch to "on" and then try to boot my splash, it won't power up. No lights or anything showing me that power is going to the motherboard. I initially thought that there was a problem with the psu and/or mobo. However, when I remove the back panel from the splash and repeat the process, after a few seconds to minutes I will see lights on the mobo and I then am able to boot. When it boots, everything works. I can power down and restart as much as I want (even withe the back panel attached), as long as I don't flip the switch on the psu. Anyone else ever run into the same problem? Is there a short or something going on here?
