Compact Splash Brotherhood - Page 448

Thread Starter
Dwood is long gone after the first 20 cases production run fell through the floor and no one (except his neighbor perhaps). The cases were made in an assembly plant and to keep costs down+the bespoke nature f the case to be truly one off the production run was done one time. The 105 ever made(listed in the first post this thread) is all that remain and the ones sold off at the very end were prototypes.

You\re welcome but I don't like dissing someones high hopes like that thus my sincere request to pick up Project mATX since that will be limited run as well(unless Jeff is hatching another plan in his evil mind biggrin.gif...?).

At the moment I don't have any plans to make more. While I know there are a few people who would be interested in buying one, most people who have contacted me looking to buy one were able to get a case from someone who's looking to sell. So hang in there! The right case might find you. :heyyou:

Also, hi everybody! :wave2:

I seriously hope that Jeff considers making a mini-itx compact splash with 14-guage steel.
If he does I'll buy it for sure.
I also hope that he gives the same options as Kyle did.

1) PC case color
2) Power led switch color option. Suggestion: Add a hdd led indicator & color option aswell for it.
3) Name tag at the back
4) Case number at the bottom
5) Fill port / Drain port
6) Diff types of window's option - black smoked acrylic, clear acrylic etc ...

Suggestion: One amazing modification he can do is for the nameplate to emit light through the back.
This would make your name plate's letter's/number's shine through the back & display your nameplate onto the wall. It would look amazing but at the same time make sure that name plate led doesn't let any light into the case as that would limit options for people who don't want the led color they chose for the nameplate to shine through in their case as they might want to have a diff color led's inside or no led's inside the case.

If Jeff pulls this off I am 100% sure he'd sell another 105 compact splash's & there would be 210 in the world thumb.gif

A human can wish & hope right? smile.gif

Nope, not ITX. That's all I'll say for now since things aren't set in stone yet.

Hope that changes biggrin.gif
Mini-ITX is the new trend now a days due to the fact that 2-way SLI, 3-way SLI, 4-way SLI etc ... have just lost their touch with the new gpu's announced & the fact that SLI support will not be as great & will also not be supported either which was announced by Nvidia themselves.

It is apparently not recommended anymore to run SLI & due to this there's been a massive wave of mini-itx builds ever since the end of 2015.
If you check out "linustechtips forums" you will see so many posts where people are just not able to find the right mini-itx case for their needs & are simply waiting on companies to make 1.
Even on YouTube ever since the end of 2015 there has been so many mini-itx builds being shown mainly due to mini-itx becoming mainstream now & it makes sense as to why aswell.

Not trying to change your plans at all Jeff, you are truly a amazing designer yourself & wouldn't do something without thinking it over.
Maybe 1 day you might consider Mini-ITX. smile.gif

Mini itx was a train(trend) that began 4 years ago only some took notice of it while. What everyone is raving about now is over bread crumbs lachen.gif

Again, with the way creativity works, it'd be disrespect to source someone's case and build a replica 'Splash and then sell it for financial gain. It'd put all the hard work and the long hours the designer had put in seem like a waste when you can just steal others work and be about it. Jeff's in a better understanding of that mind you tongue.gif

Regarding the lighting idea, you may want to read through my build log...I'm also unsure if I mentioned it but I did this to my clients case:

The nameplate would also need to be reversed and the light needs to be very bright to project the font onto the wall. This would seem silly when taking pics of the nameplate in the right way to have to read it backwards tongue.gif

Off the top of my head it's probably M3 screws.

Any foreseeable issues with just removing the rust and leave it on bare metal? My theory as to why they are rusty is because they were in a garage on the concrete floor throughout the entire winter. At this point it would be on a desk in a bedroom
