I wouldn't touch that, they can be rather loud, why don't you start with 9 gentle typhoons ap 15 fans in pull mode, maybe that's more than enough. Remember, Martin from liquid labs tested push-pull configurations and compared with pull ; push and with shroud and concluded that you only gain 2 or 3 degrees Celsius in most cases but would always get much more noise

NCIX often have Yate Loon 120mm fans for 4$ a piece. Might be worth to wait for them to become cheap again thumb.gif

Those are air penetrators which are really good for radiators. I've heard a lot of people being very happy with them

that's a case fan and has low static pressure, you need high static pressure for radiator applications.

Yeah, that 1.05 mm/H2O doesn't look too impressive. should've done more research before i asked.

I own two of them and, while I dont do any kind of professional testing, I must say that they are fairly quiet and that they push a good amount of air. For 4$ a piece I cannot complain at all. thumb.gif

It seems that there are basically two versions of yate loons out there sold under the same brand and model. One version has larger coils and performs better than the smaller coil version. This makes sense since some places sell their yate loons for significantly less than others. At the same time there is often a fairly large price difference between the two versions.

What is unfortunate is that many sellers aren't very open about what version they are selling.

Jab-Tech sells the yate loon D12SH-12 for $3.85 (or as low as $$3.45 if you buy 10+) but also sells a yate loon D12SH-12 for $5.99 that it claims is direct from yate loon. My guess would be that the $5.99 is the larger coil version and the $3.85 is the smaller coil version. Then again, is the extra $2.15 worth it for approximately 15% better performance?

The other problem is that the test in that thread was done a few years ago. Who knows how much things have changed since then.

Sorry to bump this thread, but after re-reading it; are any other updates? I'm wondering how your temps are now that things have had time to settle, and how the components in the loop are doing. thumb.gif
