Gigabyte Osmium?

Thread Starter
Just recieved this keyboard after being on a one month waiting list for new stock.

I like the USB hub, I like the scroll volume and key brightness features. I favor blue illumination over red, so far so good. I like the 5 hotkeys.

All In all I am really impressed.

However I hate the keys.

Put it this way I upgraded from a £15 Saitek Eclipse II and this £110 keyboard feels like it should have cost £0.50 compared. The keys themselves feel like they are made out of the worst plastic in this history of Man, and they have no resistance... like a puppy could touch the keyboard with its whiskers and it would go reghj[ipjjijerjg[egjepogjrjgejgerjg[oejajg.

Is this down to the keyboard or the type of membranes? Can I upgrade the keys or do I have to upgrade the keyboard?

Thanks.

The osmium mech comes with mx reds for keys. One of the lightest cherry keys out. Sure you can probably change em out for mx browns or blues but at point you might as well get a new keyboard. Someone didnt do their homework....

I beleive this board uses Cherry Red switches and those arnt really for typing. Its more of a gaming board. You should of went with browns or blues from the sounds of it. Nothings wrong with it, you just didn't do enough research before you bought it.

Edit: lol Hatfieco beat me.

I did some research but all of the key diagrams on the webstore looked the same, and I didnt want something TOO heavy, honestly untill you have experienced it for yourself I dont think someone new to mechanical keyboards can work out what they want?

Do I get used to it or do I return it for a QPAD or something?

I have to buy blind, the only shop I trust is in Stoke on Trent in the UK and I am in Cornwall.

I kept it in the end, got used to it I guess. Just going to masking tape over the big Alivia sign :/
