Hello, I am currently running a Sapphire Radeon 6950 GPU soon to be crossfired with a second 6950 and was looking for suggestions on a good water block for this card. Anyone that is running this card with water cooling and has pictures would be a bonus. Thank you.thumb.gif

Should there be more posted in your comment or was that just a statement about water cooling a 6950?

Im using EK-FC6970 for AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6970 Series - Plexi with EK-FC6970 Backplate - Black
Case is , it is for refenerence design... so if you have you not reference one check out http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/
I luve it, basicly in my loop at full load it is acting same as stock fan cooler of hd6950(reference) at 78-80% speed.
FIY, I decided to skip the GTX7xx and hd7xxx due to small portion of performance increase, so if you like me, just get it WC and wait till next gen q4 2013-q2014 for new card)
Thats how it look , sorry for bad quality, still dont have good camera)
Good luck mate:thumb:

I do like the EK water blocks, but last I knew they didn't make one for the Sapphire HD 6950. I will have to check again and see what they have to offer. TY

Anyone else have any thoughts on a water block for my Sapphire Dirt3 HD 6950's? It looks like EK doesn't make one. I know I can get universal ones but would rather not take that risk.

ow bloddy, sorry pal I though you got your answer already)

Well from EK there is nothing =( http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=464

So I did some digging around the card, this is how tour PCb looks like
as you may see, there is no screw holes around to full secure the block. Thus said, I probably can assume there is no full cover blocks available for this specific card and PCB

And on the part of universal blocks, there is no much difference, accept of some of the looks and VRM and Ram being passive cooled.
So if you dont have an open case (windowed) it wont much matter

No worries, it was a separate question I guess. I recently purchased another 6950 to run in crossfire and now i'm looking at water cooling them both. Any recommendations on a good brand of universal blocks? it seems a bit hard to find some good reviews on what would actually work for me. Thank you in advance.
