Can you measure how tall those Phobya 10mm fittings are, minus the threads?

Thanks. (At $2.30 a fitting it's awfully persuasive to switch to 10mm pipe)

Pipedreams

Alright, time to test out some bending to see how I do. I decided to pick up some 3/8" OD pipe benders and some cheap chrome supply line to see how I do.

Into the bender it goes, and out comes.....

That doesn't look right. I don't think copper pipe is supposed to be flat on the side. Well, all is not lost. I can at least try my hand at using the pipe cutter.

I swear this wasn't threaded pipe. I feel like I can hear something. It's like a voice, with a british accent. I think I hear a small dog barking in agreement. He said something about 'Magoo'.

Looks like I need to work on my technique.

Open this in the background for the proper mood.

Time went on.

A fortnight passed, Michalius tirelessly worked on his Tube-Fu. With the wise words of BNeg and Magoo, he persevered.

Many pipes later. . .

Pretty good. Now to try out the real stuff.

Those are some serious *expletive deleted* pipe benders right there. Let's see how they work.

But can he cut?

Yes he can.

When Disaster Strikes

I obsess about this build. Lots. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say I've lost sleep over it, just in the planning stages. Laying in bed, looking up at the ceiling, imagining how everything is going to look together. I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about. I spent hours calculating just the right tolerances and dimensions, going as far as using Sketchup to work everything out.

This is an mATX case, and for the amount of water cooling goodies I put in here, you really do need to count every inch. "But it's a fricken CaseLabs, there's always room", you say. Well, yeah. But still, things were tight here. The entire build is a delicate system. The routing of each pipe was carefully chosen to balance aesthetics, form, and function. So when something doesn't work, it throws everything else off.

As they say, the best laid plans . . .

Here's how I was planning on mounting my reservoir and pump. The res fill port would be accessible simply by removing the bottom two 5.25" bays.

If you remember that midplate a page or so back, it was placed pretty much right where the pump is now resting. I didn't account for the extra cm or two of the mounting bracket.

Lets see how we can make this work. One of the issues is that the reservoir is a proprietary system designed to work specifically with the Aqualis D5 pump top. There aren't even threads in the middle port. Because of this, I can't just run a pipe from the res to the pump via midplate.

So maybe I can work some magic with the midplate. I'm not sure I entirely like the look of this though. It's pretty crammed in there between the 690 and front rad. What do you guys and gals think though?

Otherwise, I have about 95mm to work with. Should I go with a skinnier reservoir, or stick with this with some fun mounting on the midplate?

Well, here we go again. More lost sleep.

Thanks mate! She gets cutting horses, which kind of ends the discussion about spending money on computers before it even begins.

nice pipe work btw.

as for the res, i think looking at it tall and slim, dont think it would look out of place then
as it stands it does look a little out of place! i have seen a few mounted to the rads.
