My wife and I love RPGs and mourn the demise of Squaresoft. We both played through Final Fantasy 10 hoping that at the end there would be a redeeming quality - but we were completely enraged that there wasn't anything to redeem.Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Lady Yunaleska was over 1000 years old and had no signs of aging,
Auron aged drastically after 10 years of being a ghost and was dead the whole time? Seriously?
Titus ended up being a dream and swimming off into the sky like some kind of gay fish - Seriously?
He didn't get the girl in the end, the whole story was about him whining about his daddy being an ass, and the whole while the only person with a higher purpose was the bad guy - Maester Seymore, who wanted to put an end to death forever! Because if everyone was turned into a spirit who refused to go to the "Farplanes" they could live on the planet like Auron and live in peace, otherwise they were somehow transformed into weird the beasts that preyed on the living kindof like Humans and Vampires.
The only interesting element in the story that could have been developed would have been about Rikku and the Albed, because they represented "Evil" and "Technology" which caused SIN's creation in the first place - but she somehow was only present during the first 20 minuets of the game and then shoehorned back into the story just before the end because the writers realized they forgot about her.
The only reason anyone would play FFX is for the TNA, which is even more obvious by the successor FFX-2 where all the characters have even less cloths on accompanied by guns.
Waka was a complete retard also and refused to use technology to destroy SIN to save the world once and for all. Instead he'd rather help his childhood friend assist suicide in order to bring peace to the world of Spira for only 1-10 years.
Completing the puzzles in the"Coister of Trials" on each island made me cringe every time.
I do gotta say in Squaresoft's defense that their company was going through the merging into Square-Enix and that immediately following the merging they produced one of the worst creations in cinematic history - Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within which lost $51,649,170.
RIP SquareSoft - we loved you :*(Edited by ElectricPrism - 3/25/13 at 12:59pm
