The Vcore volts read 1.352>1.36 why?
The rest of the mobo components have also been given a little more juice.
Anything past 3.36ghz is unstable.
????????????
You are missing the P5b dELUXE. The P5W is not a good mobo for OCing. The P5B Deluxe is the best right now, well the 680i is probably going to be the best soon, once they fix the OCing and SATA problems.

If anything at all comes from this thread it would be a WARNING, DONT $pend$ the extra on 8500/1066 ram,I expected to clock passed the rated 1066 but 1020 is final, E6700 not worth it either everything below the 67 will save you a significant amount of $penny$ at the sacrifice of, well nothing in the E6600's case. Mobo Why bother theirs $cheaper$ alternatives out there that will do the same job if not better, apparently it's the board holding back the ram but with B.S comes B.S. (who do you beleive) was the most common question i asked myself during this build and i got screwed outta $$$$, You will get the same results with Far Le$$.Here are my results for anyone who either wants to help or find out what the $$$ amount of these components will REALLY get you & thats 3.4(1.425v). and we all know shooting anything above 1.400v & you can kiss that intel warranty goodbye.
Ram:
510mhz
FSBDRAM 2:3
5 5 5 15-21
CPU z states Max bandwidth of 8500C5's is 6400(400mhz) isnt that ment to read (533mhz).
Core speed: 3404mhz,
Bus: 340mhz x10
FSB: 1361mhz
Press the Prt Scrn/Sys Rq button and go into Paint and Edit-Past. You can have a nice screeny then. Just make sure you save it as a JPEG and not the bit map.

? Where is that comming from? The P5W-DH board is one of the best for a 975x Chipset. It's a better OCer (cpu wise) than the 680i.

Heck, if you really think about his CPU, the P5W-DH is probably a comparible board to the P5B. Since this board has basically the same features, but won't hit the clock speeds of a E6300.

PC probe is in the red 255c but switches to 30c (green) Whats the deal with that? Wont give it anymore just yet till i sort out the above.
P5W is SLI ready P5b not that was the reasoning behind the purchase, Im not completely Bagging out the P5W but merely making a valid point(s) based on perfomance per $dollar$, I expected more. If your concern is a few more meesly mhz that youll never notice when using your P.C for everyday tasks, go ahead and empty those pockets Im sure you have the full support of anyone manufacturing & selling these products. This is not directed at anyone in this thread/forum just had to clear up previous post, only coz i actually give a S#$T and might help someone make the right decision before purchase.
Got side tracked! Anyway what benefits does the L28 have over the others?

If you have say L28, that means its a week 28 chip. These are widely regarded as the best overclocking chips, them and week 29's.

The way to check is to look at the box or look on the IHS.

I have a week 28 E6600. I'm stable at 3.6 Ghz 1.38v. I can get to 3.8 with 1.475v. Its all about the chip, if your lucky you'll get a good one that will overclock well, won't need a lot of volts and will stay cool.

You could try 400 x 9 with 1.45v. Thats a safe voltage for C2D's and is very similiar to my settings
yes, mine ate up 4Ghz with little trouble, but others have done it with a very low vcore. You need to raise your vcore from what you have explaINED. mANY PEOPLE WITH THEIR E6600'S HAVE NEEDED 1.5 JUST TO HIT 3.4gHZ...oops, capslock...sorry. {looks like typing with tourettes}

I have the same batch. Try 400 for your fsb
9 multi
1.425 for the vcore
vdimm stock
set your mem multiplier to 1:1 however that is on your board

question: that nforce board may never see 400 fsb... increase the fsb voltage. Under chipset voltage add another setting or two...

Watch youe temps, but at 1.425 you should see stability, if not, notch it up a bit...
