I have been lazy for testing but have read a few articles saying that TWC allocates more than one external IP. The plan was to put a DD-WRT UPNP device as the WAN for that Xbox VLAN and have it segregated as it's own network really, while the rest of the VLANs are PAT behind the one allocated to the J2320

Thread Starter
Moved into a house. Redid my network setup somewhat.

Vz FiOS 75/35 (sadly, GPON fibre isn't going to be here for a couple months)
CheckPoint UTM-1 Edge N firewall appliance
Netgear GS108T smart switch
Ubiquiti UAP-LR access point
(other components pictured are for TV service)

5 VLANs
-- 2 private VLANs
-- 2 WiFi VLANs (one pub, one pvt)
-- 1 Vz STB VLAN
I'll Visio this when I have the time.

Physical setup:

(excuse the silly decorations)

My current:

Fortinet Forti "wifi"60D (wifi put in quotes becuase it's a joke on the 60D-very weak and cuts out all the time even on non-congested channel) and using the Amped RTA15 as an AP

The fortinet unit is a review/eval unit, however, using it to get more familar with Fortinet since a lot of businesses around here use them. Going back to the Amped when I have to return the Fortinet.

Downstairs in the Living room I have a Cisco Meraki MR12 cloud managed AP

Made some changes but need to overhaul it a bit. I left out the 3502 AP. A quick mock up:

I love my Meraki MR12 it's awesome. Love the management on it. It's been pretty solid too. smile.gif

I'm actually working on getting a Z1 so I can have a quick to get a hold of enteprise grade router and I'm gonna need it. My ISP has been more strict with stuff lately so I need monitoring and filtering controls that my RTA15 can't have. frown.gif

Later when I move I'll prolly get an MX60 and some of the meraki 802.11AC APs or possibly some xirrus ones.

I'm testing a couple xirrus aps right now and I love them. I got em in that fancy schmancy roaming mode and it's freakin cool.

I do now have two Aruba rap-109s I get to keep as well. I love them as well. The RF options are awesome.
