How do i clean my pc ??

Hello I built a pc back in late August of 2012. The only problem i had was the wiring as i had no clue how to do it so i had my mom take it to work to have her friend do the wiring for me. I have not opened the pc sense that day as i am afraid something might go wrong if i do open the pc but it is time to clean her out. A couple of questions

1) will anything go wrong when i open the side panel of my pc specific the wiring
2) what should i use to clean my pc ( hopeful cheap and a common item)
3) what things must i lookout for when cleaning my pc
4) in the future i plan to buy a vacuum to clean my pc good or bad idea?

Vacuum http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3T2DVKCWPEYYC&coliid=I1UCLHKCCEAJYB

Just used cans of compressed air or an air compressor. I never recommend pc vacuums, you still have a chance of static electricity with them. Compressed air and compressors you don't need to touch anything, just aim.

A small air compressor will do all the hard work for you. I only clean my rig with air compressor like yesterday was the rig clean day, everything is clean and shine. This is the easy way to get fans and radiators to be very clean without taking every part down. But be very carefully when using air compressor just set your PSI at 70 and move up and down or left and right. Do not stop in just in only spot on your hardware.

That's a lot if time without cleaning. Always dust your case one a month. And take off fans to wipe with ear buds every 3 month. Or at least that's what I do. Cleaner computer means less noise and less heat

to add my two cents worth cleaning a PC is easier now dependent on the type of fan you have...just by having a new case with stron suction fans help keep the internal aspects of a PC clean..i even know ppl who put a cloth on a pc ower when it is not in use to keep dust to a minimum..

Dust on gear or clogged vents restriction airflow. Dosent really matter, both will restrict thermal desipation.

agree to your point but electronic erosion will take place over time so a dust off with a thin brush will always be beneficial...but my point was that a cloth will keep some dust away on a temporary basis....

Any good air-compressor or manual blower will do he job for you . wink.gif

If you are going to use an air compressor, be sure to fit an inline water separator.

This is what I use.
