Changeing Voltages.

Thread Starter
Hey all I hope you can help me out here. I have an Intel 531 3.0Ghz CPU on a PCChips P23G mobo, (yeah I know it's junk). I can get to 3.3Ghz OC but any higher an it just aint stable. I can't adjust voltages in the BIOS at all so I'm stuck at 3.3Ghz. My question is twofold 1) Would a BIOS upgrade allow me to change voltages and 2) is there software that will allow me to do the same?

I hope you guys can help. Thanks.

3.0-3.3 shouldnt really need much if any voltage increase, maybe your ram is holding you back are you running a divider?

No divider don't need a voltage increase at the mo it's stable as a rock but i can't go any higher. I know the CPU can go higher, some guys get it to 3.7Ghz, but as soon as I go over 3.3Ghz stablity goes out the window.

Chances are slim to none that a bios update will add voltage modification on your board. PCChips, as you know, is a low end manufacture, I personally am surprised your board has any overclocking options at all. Also, if your bios does not allow you to control voltages then there are no programs that will allow you to change them. I would suggest two things, A. being happy with 3.3, cause thats probably the highest you will get on that board, or B. Get a new board and oc that thing like mad.
