If it was general life advice, then thanks. The kind of thanks your father gives you when you point out the blatantly obvious..
If this mentality is representative of the general fanbase of this series, it will be destined to either fail or drown in mediocrity.
First Assault is first person? Third person was in terms of wanting Battlefront 3 to be, I didn't realize anyone in this thread was working on the assumption that First assault is, especially since the first screenshots of the game show it to be first person...
The game looks rough because that video was from a build roughly a year from the launch of the game. Most game studios build games piece-wise rather than iteratively (it's cheaper), so the actual build can be missing 3+ month old components that either aren't finished or cause severe issues when integrated. You get the core of the game working, and then you add to it piece by piece to make sure nothing breaks. The biggest game failures are usually a result of running out of time while trying to put everything together and not being able to fix the new problems. Judging gameplay from a build that far from launch isn't wise, especially when the footage is from an observer, not player, viewpoint.
As for it being old footage:

We've got two clips of First Assault, both cut from a trailer that was designed for internal use at LucasArts back in October/November
