AMD will prevail
The P4 was a beast when it was first relesed and there would be no compitition or drive to make better chips unless the other came out with a better one!

I'd like to see how they're going to do that... The conroe is a beast, and it is very scalable, not to mention cheap. AMD's chips produce too much heat to go higher than 3ghz stock, and are typically more expensive. Perhaps they are making a better chip, or this article is not very accurate. It would be nice if they cited the sources they used for their estimations.

Who let the non-fanboi into this thread?

The huge part of the reason of them exploding by that percentage is because of the ATI acquisition. Heat production/consumption for AMD chips should be lowered more now that 65nm is finally out. AMD is still dominating in the high end server market because of their superior interconnect.
