SimCity on GTX260

Thread Starter
Hi guys!

I just bought SimCity and loving the game so far. Unfortunately my ancient GTX260 may have finally hit its limit with this one. I can set the settings to Ultra but my fps dropped significantly, I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to somehow improve the performance. I haven't tried OCing it yet, and was hoping the solution could be there, any suggestions on a good OC software for gtx260?

Thanks in advance.

I always use EVGA precision to OC my gpus. Done it with my 260, 560ti, and 670.

Buy a second GTX 260? Don't they go for something like $40 right now?

I'll give EVGA a shot. Hope it can reach 30fps on ultra this time. I'll give an update if it works out.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! smile.gif

I've tried EVGA last night, can't seem to get a stable OC. Any tips or guidelines in OCing my gpu? Is it safe to max out the memory clock slider, or should I look for some gtx260 datasheet first?

I'd avoid playing with the memory speed too much. People say that it can be damaged easily.

Just increase the core speed with an OCing tool (I prefer MSI afterburner) until it crashes or artifacts while running Unigine heaven or something like that. Increase the voltage if you want to increase the clock speed further.

Hey man,

This is the OC i'm using on my rig with the GTX260 in..

Also note that i upped my GPU voltage by 0.05v

It runs quite hot with that OC, but nice performance gains

Good luck
