How's this MB?

look at this and tell me if it's worth it i want to upgrade my socket 754 mobo but i want to keep my AGP 8x card for now with the option to upgrade later so.. is it good? will it have a PCI and AGP lock? my oold board didn't and it's keeping me from OCing any higher... i hate it lol.

Well its not a very well known brand however for what you want it for its perfect. Im not sure on the AGP/PCI lock on it though.

If you're looking for a board to OC, get a more well known brand. Read the reviews and see what people on newegg have had problems with. Remember that people with problems are more likely to post so stuff could look worse that it is.

Sometimes people say if something has PCI/AGP lock or if its good for overclocking.

I couldn't find any that had APG and the Nforce 4 chipset which i though would be my best bet for getting a pci and agp lock

what do you use PCI 1x for?
I have an epox 9nda3I im selling , it has a nforce 3 chipset pci/agp lock . and will hit over 300mhz fsb.. I had it in this system for over a year no problems.

its a great overclocker, right up there with the dfi and asus boards. and about a million times better than that jetway.

*edit* ahhh you want 754, this is 939.

well get a cheap 939 chip and buy my mobo! heh

I can understand if you are trying to save some money by not upgrading your video card but at this point AGP is so far out of date that you are better off saving some money and upgrading both at the same time. Are you going to be gaming on this rig if so then upgrading both is the best bet if not then that changes it compleatly.

Can I just say that there is really no need to jump ship to PCI-e if your hardware does the job currently.

As for motherboards the best board on the 754 platform in my opinion is this DFI NF3 UT 250GB

It does not have both GPU buses but the hybrid boards are really poor at overclocking and performance generally suffers.
